The Literary Prize Hans Christian Andersen, was created to emphasize Children Literature
Today this Prize is open not only to professional writers, but also to children of Italian Schools, who can participate from kindergarten as a group, or individually when older.
Since 1996, Andersen is also a Festival: early June, the town is alive with shows of new circus, music, narrative with actors and authors who entertain by the seaside. The beaches, squares and the narrow roads of Sestri Levante fill with enchantment for children and adults alike!
The schoolchildren of Sestri Levante will show what they have learned during the year, while participating in musical, singing and dancing labs.
